Meet Alexis
Hey there, Adventurer!
I’m Alexis Cannella—an educator, speaker, and world explorer who believes learning should be as exciting as traveling to a new country! From the classroom to the world, I help students learn, grow, and explore academically and globally.
I was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, raised in Detroit, Michigan, U.S., and have spent the last 9 years living, teaching, and adventuring around the world. I called Indonesia home for 3.5 years, lived in Europe for 1.5 years, and have taught students across four continents—both online and in person!
I circumnavigated the globe by ship in just four months with Semester at Sea, explored 60+ countries across all 7 continents, and, yes—I once jumped out of a perfectly good plane just for the thrill of it! 😆 I speak four languages, can plan a spontaneous backpacking trip in less than an hour, and eat my weight in pasta!
My bucket list keeps growing faster than I can keep up, but that’s part of the adventure, right?
I believe curiosity is the key to learning and life. Whether it’s helping students master a new subject or inspiring people to explore the world, my mission is simple: to spark curiosity, cultivate confidence, and turn learning into an adventure!

- I have backpacked to 61 countries across 7 continents—and counting!
- I devour books and audiobooks as if my life depended on them! I love fiction, self-development, or anything about dragons & fantasy creatures!
- I studied Zoology and Chemistry in university preparing to become a Veterinarian, but I fell in love with teaching and traveling—and the rest is history!
- Catch me on the dance floor! I love dancing, fitness, and trying new adventure sports
- I speak Spanish (advanced), Bahasa Indonesia (intermediate), and Italian (beginner)
